What is included
Curtains steamed on their tracks and blinds cleaned slat by slat, without the cost and risk of taking them down. Curtains filter the dust that comes through every window and balcony door. We clean them where they hang, so there is no shrinkage, no rehanging and no bare windows.
- Pleats vacuumed along the fold with a soft brush at low suction
- Cells cleared of dust and insects with gentle moving air
- Marks dabbed with a barely damp cloth and mild detergent
- Blind raised fully afterwards so the pleats reset as they dry
How we carry out honeycomb and pleated blind cleaning
The blind is lowered fully and vacuumed along the line of the pleats, never across them, with a soft brush and the suction turned down. Honeycomb cells are open at each end and collect dust and dead insects, which are blown out gently from one side towards a vacuum nozzle at the other. Marks are dabbed with a cloth dampened in lukewarm water and a drop of mild detergent, then blotted dry. Polyester blinds whose maker allows it can be taken for immersion cleaning off site and hung to dry fully extended.
Heat is hard on these blinds. They sit close to the glass, often inside the reveal, and in Dubai the air trapped there gets hot enough to weaken the adhesive lines that hold a honeycomb together, so cells open up or pleats go slack. Wetting a blind in that condition finishes it off. Blackout versions have a foil lining inside the cell that creases permanently if it is squeezed. The site visit checks for failed glue lines, frayed cords and faded fabric, and confirms from the maker label that immersion is allowed.
How it works
The same method on every job, so the result does not depend on who is on shift.
- Site visit and written quotation. A supervisor visits, measures and records every room, surface and extra. The written quotation that follows sets out the scope, with no hourly meter and nothing added on the day.
- Protect and prepare. Lifts, floors and furniture are protected and delicate finishes are logged on a surface register before any product is opened.
- Dry before wet, top before bottom. Dust is lifted with HEPA filtered vacuums from ceilings and fittings downwards. Each zone is then wet cleaned with chemistry matched to its finish.
- Detail work and floors. Tracks, switches, skirtings, handles and glass are finished by hand. Floors are machine scrubbed last so nothing is walked back in.
- Inspection and report. The supervisor signs all fourteen checks, photographs the result and sends you the report within the hour.
Honeycomb and Pleated Blind Cleaning in Nad Al Sheba: what we plan for
Nad Al Sheba is a district of large private villas on wide plots behind the Meydan racecourse, many of them family compounds with a majlis, staff quarters and several outbuildings. Nad Al Sheba Gardens and Nad Al Sheba Villas add newer gated clusters of villas and townhouses.
The district sits beside open land and several building sites, so fine dust settles every day on glass, courtyards and parked cars, and AC filters load quickly.
Most villas are on open streets with their own gate. The newer clusters are gated and the resident registers the visit.

Questions about honeycomb and pleated blind cleaning in Nad Al Sheba
What does honeycomb and pleated blind cleaning include?
Honeycomb and pleated blinds are made of thin bonded or folded fabric that creases and delaminates if soaked. They are vacuumed, blown clear inside the cells and spot cleaned. The work includes pleats vacuumed along the fold with a soft brush at low suction; cells cleared of dust and insects with gentle moving air; marks dabbed with a barely damp cloth and mild detergent.
Can honeycomb blinds be washed?
Some polyester ones can be immersed in cool water, if the maker says so and the glue lines are still sound. Blackout, foil lined and older heat damaged blinds should only be vacuumed and spot cleaned, since soaking them separates the layers.
Why have the pleats in my blind gone slack?
Pleats lose their memory when a blind is left lowered in strong sun for long periods, or when the cord tension has dropped. Keeping the blind raised for a few days can help the folds recover, and slack cords can be retensioned by the handyman team.
How much does honeycomb and pleated blind cleaning cost in Nad Al Sheba?
We do not publish prices, because no two jobs are the same. The main factors: size of the property and number of rooms; condition, and how long since the last deep clean. Book a site visit: a supervisor from The MELLS looks at the work and you receive a written quotation with a defined scope before anything begins.

Once or twice a year in Dubai, and more often near the coast or next to construction.
Do you take the curtains down?

Is steam safe for blackout and silk curtains?
Blackout linings are cleaned at low temperature. Silk and velvet are cleaned with low moisture methods after a test.
