Jumeirah Bay Island is a low density island off the Jumeirah coast, home to the Bulgari Resort and Residences and a small number of private mansions. Along the same shoreline, La Mer, Port de La Mer and Sur La Mer offer beachfront apartments, townhouses and villas, and Pearl Jumeirah is a peninsula of custom built waterfront homes.

Everything here is within a few hundred metres of open sea. Salt spray coats glass and metal, onshore wind carries fine sand, and humidity is high for much of the year.
