What is included
AC ducting sized, fabricated and installed for villas, apartments, offices, shops and restaurants, with joints sealed, ducts insulated and airflow balanced. A ducted AC is only as good as the ductwork hidden above the ceiling. Ducts that are too small are noisy and starve the far rooms, and in Dubai humidity any gap in the insulation sweats and drips onto the ceiling below. Our own technicians work out the airflow each room needs, then fabricate, hang, seal and insulate the ducts and balance the system before handover.
- Landlord connection points and capacity checked on site
- Extra supply allowed for the shopfront glass and entrance
- Lighting heat load included in the airflow for the sales floor
- Exposed ducts set out straight, level and in line with the lights
How we carry out shop and showroom ducting works
Retail units are normally handed over with a chilled water or ducted connection at the back of the shop. From there we run supply and return ducts to suit the store layout: more air at the shopfront, where sun on the glass and the open door add heat, and a steady spread across the sales floor. Fitting rooms and stock rooms get their own outlets. Where the ceiling is open, round spiral duct or painted rectangular duct is set out in straight lines so it reads as part of the design.
Showrooms carry heavy lighting, and lights give off heat that the original duct design may not have allowed for. The result is a shop that is fine in the morning and warm by the afternoon. Exposed ducts in humid air sweat unless they are insulated internally or double walled, and drips on stock are costly. In malls, the landlord sets the fit out rules and the times for noisy work, and any change to fire dampers is coordinated with mall management. The site visit collects those rules first.
How it works
The same method on every job, so the result does not depend on who is on shift.
- Survey and diagnosis. A technician inspects the system or surface, takes readings and photographs, and explains what was found in plain language.
- Written quotation. You receive a written quotation against a defined scope before any work starts. Anything outside that scope is quoted separately.
- Protected, supervised work. The work area is protected and isolated, and the job is carried out by our own technicians under a named supervisor.
- Testing. Every job ends with a measured test suited to the discipline, so the result is a reading and a photograph and not an opinion.
- Report and warranty. The completed report reaches you within the hour. Any failed point is put right free of charge within 48 hours.
Shop and Showroom Ducting Works in Al Quoz: what we plan for
Al Quoz lies between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road and has two characters. Al Quoz 1 to 4 are residential, with private villas, older houses and some low rise apartment buildings. The four Industrial Areas hold warehouses, workshops, showrooms, factories and staff accommodation. Within them, Alserkal Avenue and the Creative Zone have turned warehouses into galleries, studios, cafes and offices. Al Khail Gate and Al Khail Heights are large apartment communities on the Al Khail Road side.
Industrial dust is the constant here. Cement, stone cutting, vehicle workshops and heavy lorries on open yards put a coarse grey dust in the air, and it settles on roofs, shutters, skylights and AC units. Homes near Sheikh Zayed Road or Al Khail Road get an oily traffic film on top of it. Rooftop package units and split condensers choke on coarse dust. Condenser coils are washed, filters changed or cleaned, belts and drains checked, and roof outlets cleared of the grit that washes into them.
Villas and most warehouses are on open streets with direct loading. The apartment communities run a permit and lift booking system, which The MELLS deals with. Galleries, managed warehouse compounds and working factories have their own site rules, confirmed at the site visit.
What your quotation depends on

Questions about shop and showroom ducting works in Al Quoz
What do shop and showroom ducting works include?
Shop and showroom ducting takes cooled air from the landlord connection to the sales floor, stock room and fitting rooms, in ducts that are hidden or left neatly exposed. The work includes landlord connection points and capacity checked on site; extra supply allowed for the shopfront glass and entrance; lighting heat load included in the airflow for the sales floor.
Can ducts be left exposed in a shop?
They can, and many shops prefer it. The duct has to be made and hung to a visible standard, with joints lined up and supports evenly spaced, and insulated on the inside so the outer surface stays dry and can be painted.
Do you handle mall fit out requirements?
We deal with them on most retail jobs. Each mall has a tenant manual covering drawings, permits, working times and inspections. We prepare the duct drawings and documents the mall asks for and plan the work around its access and trading hours.
How much do shop and showroom ducting works cost in Al Quoz?
We do not publish prices, because no two jobs are the same. The main factors: size and type of the system or surface; present condition and ease of access. Book a site visit: a supervisor from The MELLS looks at the work and you receive a written quotation with a defined scope before anything begins.
Who provides shop and showroom ducting works in Al Quoz?
The MELLS provides shop and showroom ducting works in Al Quoz, Dubai. The work is carried out by people The MELLS employs directly, under a named supervisor, 08:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday. To arrange it, book a site visit on this page or call +971 55 444 0084.
How long do shop and showroom ducting works take?
Typically agreed at the site visit and planned around your trading hours. The time for your property is confirmed with the quotation.
Do you install AC ducting in Al Quoz?
Yes. We install, replace and alter AC ducting in villas, apartments, offices, shops and restaurants across Dubai. A site visit measures the ceiling void and the AC unit before the scope is put in writing.
Why is water dripping from the ceiling under my AC duct?
Most often the insulation or its vapour barrier has a gap, so humid air reaches the cold metal and condenses. A blocked drain line can look the same from below, so we check both before any repair is proposed.
Why are some rooms colder than others?
The far rooms are usually short of air. The ducts may be undersized, a flexible duct may be crushed, or the branches may have no dampers. We measure the airflow at each outlet, correct the duct and balance the system.
How do your crews get access to Al Quoz?
Villas and most warehouses are on open streets with direct loading. The apartment communities run a permit and lift booking system, which The MELLS deals with. Galleries, managed warehouse compounds and working factories have their own site rules, confirmed at the site visit.
Do you cover Al Khail Gate and Al Khail Heights?
Yes. Both are apartment communities with their own management. A compact team is sent, and the permit and the lift slot are requested before the visit.
How do I choose a company for shop and showroom ducting works in Al Quoz?
Ask four things: who employs the people who will come, whether the scope is written down before work starts, how the result is checked, and what happens if something is missed. The MELLS uses its own staff, quotes in writing after a site visit, checks every job (a measured test for every job, with photographs before and after) and puts right any failed check free of charge within 48 hours.
Can you come to Al Quoz at short notice?
Yes. Crews travel from our Barsha Heights base, and urgent work in Dubai is attended within two hours between 08:00 and 19:00, Monday to Saturday.
