What is included
AC ducting sized, fabricated and installed for villas, apartments, offices, shops and restaurants, with joints sealed, ducts insulated and airflow balanced. A ducted AC is only as good as the ductwork hidden above the ceiling. Ducts that are too small are noisy and starve the far rooms, and in Dubai humidity any gap in the insulation sweats and drips onto the ceiling below. Our own technicians work out the airflow each room needs, then fabricate, hang, seal and insulate the ducts and balance the system before handover.
- Outlet size and type matched to the airflow of the room
- Positions set out to line up with lights and ceiling joints
- Opening framed so the ceiling carries no weight from the duct
- Blades and dampers adjusted so air does not blow onto seating
How we carry out grille and diffuser installation
Each outlet is sized to the air it has to deliver, since a diffuser that is too small hisses and one that is too large drops cold air straight down. Positions are set out with the lighting layout so everything lines up. The opening is cut and framed, a plenum box is hung above it from the slab, and the flexible connection is made. The diffuser or grille is then screwed or clipped to the frame with a foam gasket behind the flange, so no air leaks round the edge and marks the ceiling.
Black streaks around a diffuser are dust drawn out of the void through a gap behind the flange, not dirt from the duct. Rattles come from a loose damper blade or a core that was never clipped home. Return grilles matter as much as supply ones: too small, and the unit strains and whistles. In Dubai homes we also check that supply air is not aimed at a window wall, where it will cause condensation on the glass. The site visit confirms the ceiling type and the space above each position.
How it works
The same method on every job, so the result does not depend on who is on shift.
- Survey and diagnosis. A technician inspects the system or surface, takes readings and photographs, and explains what was found in plain language.
- Written quotation. You receive a written quotation against a defined scope before any work starts. Anything outside that scope is quoted separately.
- Protected, supervised work. The work area is protected and isolated, and the job is carried out by our own technicians under a named supervisor.
- Testing. Every job ends with a measured test suited to the discipline, so the result is a reading and a photograph and not an opinion.
- Report and warranty. The completed report reaches you within the hour. Any failed point is put right free of charge within 48 hours.
Grille and Diffuser Installation in Dubai Media City: what we plan for
Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Knowledge Park are neighbouring free zone business districts on the sea side of Sheikh Zayed Road. Much of the stock is low rise office buildings in landscaped campuses with water features and lawns, joined by office towers such as Arenco Tower, Concord Tower, Shatha Tower and Business Central Towers. Hotels and a small number of residential towers, Hilliana Tower among them, stand along the edges.
The districts sit between Sheikh Zayed Road and the coast. Road dust and exhaust film reach the facades on the inland side, and humid sea air on the other side leaves a salty haze on glass and speeds up corrosion on outdoor AC units and metal fittings. Irrigated lawns add mineral spotting to ground floor glazing. Office floors are served by fan coil units and ceiling diffusers that run through long working days. Filters, coils and drain trays are cleaned on a schedule, and diffusers are vacuumed so dust stops marking the ceiling tiles around them.
These are managed free zones. Contractors need a permit from the building or the zone management, with staff details submitted in advance, and there are limits on work in common areas during office hours. The MELLS prepares the paperwork, and the exact rules are confirmed at the site visit.

Questions about grille and diffuser installation in Dubai Media City
What does grille and diffuser installation include?
Supply diffusers and return grilles are chosen for the airflow and throw each room needs, cut into the ceiling or wall, fixed to a plenum box and set square to the room. The work includes outlet size and type matched to the airflow of the room; positions set out to line up with lights and ceiling joints; opening framed so the ceiling carries no weight from the duct.
Can a diffuser be moved to a different spot?
Usually, if there is space in the void for the plenum box and the flexible connection stays short. The old opening is closed and finished to match the ceiling. We check the route above before agreeing a new position.
Which is better, a linear slot or a square diffuser?
Square and round diffusers spread air in all directions and suit most rooms. Linear slots look cleaner along a wall or a ceiling feature but need a properly sized plenum behind them. The choice depends on the ceiling design and the airflow.
How much does grille and diffuser installation cost in Dubai Media City?
We do not publish prices, because no two jobs are the same. The main factors: size and type of the system or surface; present condition and ease of access. Book a site visit: a supervisor from The MELLS looks at the work and you receive a written quotation with a defined scope before anything begins.
Who provides grille and diffuser installation in Dubai Media City?
The MELLS provides grille and diffuser installation in Dubai Media City. The work is carried out by people The MELLS employs directly, under a named supervisor, 08:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday. To arrange it, book a site visit on this page or call +971 55 444 0084.
How long does grille and diffuser installation take?
Typically one to three days for most villas and fit out units. The time for your property is confirmed with the quotation.
Do you install AC ducting in Dubai Media City?
Yes. We install, replace and alter AC ducting in villas, apartments, offices, shops and restaurants across Dubai. A site visit measures the ceiling void and the AC unit before the scope is put in writing.
Why is water dripping from the ceiling under my AC duct?
Most often the insulation or its vapour barrier has a gap, so humid air reaches the cold metal and condenses. A blocked drain line can look the same from below, so we check both before any repair is proposed.
Why are some rooms colder than others?
The far rooms are usually short of air. The ducts may be undersized, a flexible duct may be crushed, or the branches may have no dampers. We measure the airflow at each outlet, correct the duct and balance the system.
Do you arrange the building permit in Dubai Media City?
Yes. Most buildings ask contractors for a work permit, trade licence, insurance and staff IDs, and a service lift booking. We submit all of it for you.
How do I choose a company for grille and diffuser installation in Dubai Media City?
Ask four things: who employs the people who will come, whether the scope is written down before work starts, how the result is checked, and what happens if something is missed. The MELLS uses its own staff, quotes in writing after a site visit, checks every job (a measured test for every job, with photographs before and after) and puts right any failed check free of charge within 48 hours.
Can you come to Dubai Media City at short notice?
