What is included
Light fixing and lighting installation for homes, offices and shops, from one replaced fitting to downlights, LED strip, pendants and outdoor lights. Most lighting faults in Dubai trace back to a fitting screwed into gypsum board alone, a driver with no headroom, or a joint that humidity has reached. Our own technicians isolate the circuit at the distribution board, prove it dead with a tester and work to the manufacturer's instructions. Any approval the building or the community asks for is identified at the site visit, and we prepare the paperwork.
- Sensor type chosen for the space and the mounting height
- Detection zone walked and adjusted so it covers the doorway
- Off delay and daylight threshold set on site
- Manual override left in place where the user wants one
How we carry out motion sensor lighting
A passive infrared sensor sees a warm body moving across its view, so it is placed where people walk across it, not straight towards it. Microwave sensors see through thin partitions and suit enclosed fittings, but need turning down so they ignore the corridor outside. The sensor is wired between the switch and the lights, the delay and daylight level are set, and we walk the room to see that it triggers at the door and holds while someone stands still at a shelf or basin.
Outdoor sensors in Dubai get false triggers from warm air off AC outdoor units, swaying palms and cats on the boundary wall, so aim and sensitivity matter more than the fitting. In summer a passive infrared sensor is also less sharp, since the background is close to body temperature. Indoors, the usual complaint is lights going off on someone sitting still. The site visit checks the mounting height, what the sensor will see and the load it must switch.
How it works
The same method on every job, so the result does not depend on who is on shift.
- Survey and diagnosis. A technician inspects the system or surface, takes readings and photographs, and explains what was found in plain language.
- Written quotation. You receive a written quotation against a defined scope before any work starts. Anything outside that scope is quoted separately.
- Protected, supervised work. The work area is protected and isolated, and the job is carried out by our own technicians under a named supervisor.
- Testing. Every job ends with a measured test suited to the discipline, so the result is a reading and a photograph and not an opinion.
- Report and warranty. The completed report reaches you within the hour. Any failed point is put right free of charge within 48 hours.
Motion Sensor Lighting in Nad Al Sheba: what we plan for
Nad Al Sheba is a district of large private villas on wide plots behind the Meydan racecourse, many of them family compounds with a majlis, staff quarters and several outbuildings. Nad Al Sheba Gardens and Nad Al Sheba Villas add newer gated clusters of villas and townhouses.
The district sits beside open land and several building sites, so fine dust settles every day on glass, courtyards and parked cars, and AC filters load quickly. Large homes run many AC units and water heaters, which we log on the first visit and service to a schedule.
Most villas are on open streets with their own gate. The newer clusters are gated and the resident registers the visit.

Questions about motion sensor lighting in Nad Al Sheba
What does motion sensor lighting include?
Motion sensors switch lights on when someone enters and off after a set delay, in stores, corridors, bathrooms, garages and along villa paths. The work includes sensor type chosen for the space and the mounting height; detection zone walked and adjusted so it covers the doorway; off delay and daylight threshold set on site.
Can a sensor be added to lights I already have?
A sensor can replace the wall switch or be mounted on the ceiling and wired into the existing circuit. We confirm that it can carry the load of the lights, since LED drivers draw a surge when they start.
Why does my outdoor sensor light keep coming on?
Something warm or moving is crossing its view: an AC outdoor unit, a tree, traffic or animals. We mask part of the lens, lower the sensitivity or move the sensor so it only watches the gate or path.
How much does motion sensor lighting cost in Nad Al Sheba?
We do not publish prices, because no two jobs are the same. The main factors: size and type of the system or surface; present condition and ease of access. Book a site visit: a supervisor from The MELLS looks at the work and you receive a written quotation with a defined scope before anything begins.
Who provides motion sensor lighting in Nad Al Sheba?
The MELLS provides motion sensor lighting in Nad Al Sheba, Dubai. The work is carried out by people The MELLS employs directly, under a named supervisor, 08:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday. To arrange it, book a site visit on this page or call +971 55 444 0084.
How long does motion sensor lighting take?
Typically 1 to 3 hours for a few fittings, longer for whole rooms. The time for your property is confirmed with the quotation.
Can a heavy chandelier hang from a gypsum ceiling?
Not from the board itself. The weight has to go to the slab or a joist through a fixing rated for the load, with the gypsum only covering it. We open a small access above the position, set the anchor and close the ceiling around the rose.
Is a permit needed for lighting work in a tower or mall in Nad Al Sheba?
Towers and malls normally ask for a work permit, and a retail unit has to follow the landlord fit out guide. We identify what applies at the site visit and prepare the paperwork the building or the landlord asks for.
Should every light in a room be the same colour?
Within one room, yes. Warm white suits living rooms and bedrooms, and neutral white suits kitchens and work areas. Two whites on one ceiling look patchy, so we read the colour temperature printed on each lamp before it is fitted.
How do your crews get access to Nad Al Sheba?
Most villas are on open streets with their own gate. The newer clusters are gated and the resident registers the visit.
Can you clean a majlis and the main house in one visit?
Yes. We send two teams so the majlis, the main house and the outdoor areas progress together.
How do I choose a company for motion sensor lighting in Nad Al Sheba?
Ask four things: who employs the people who will come, whether the scope is written down before work starts, how the result is checked, and what happens if something is missed. The MELLS uses its own staff, quotes in writing after a site visit, checks every job (a measured test for every job, with photographs before and after) and puts right any failed check free of charge within 48 hours.
Can you come to Nad Al Sheba at short notice?
Yes. Crews travel from our Barsha Heights base, and urgent work in Dubai is attended within two hours between 08:00 and 19:00, Monday to Saturday.
