What is included

Interior and exterior painting by our own painters, with surfaces properly prepared, furniture fully protected and wet film thickness checked on every coat. A good paint finish is mostly preparation. Dubai walls move with heat, hairline cracks open at ceiling joints, and coastal air and irrigation mark exterior walls within a few seasons. We repair and prime before we paint, apply the system named in your quotation and leave the home clean enough to move straight back into.

How we carry out Venetian plaster and stucco

The wall beneath has to be flatter than for paint, so it is skimmed, sanded and primed with a quartz or bonding primer. The first coat of stucco is spread tight with a flexible steel trowel. Later coats are laid in short overlapping strokes, each one thin enough to see through, and left to dry between passes. On the final coat the trowel is held at a low angle and worked hard across the surface, which compresses the plaster and brings up the polish. Wax or sealer is added where the wall may be splashed.

The finish shows the hand of whoever applied it, so one wall should be completed by one applicator in one session. Stopping halfway leaves a visible join. Air conditioning blowing on the wall dries the plaster before it can be burnished, and a dirty or nicked trowel leaves black metal marks in pale colours. Repairs are difficult to hide later, so the choice of wall matters. The site visit checks flatness, corners, sockets and the light on the wall, and a sample board is agreed before work begins.

How it works

The same method on every job, so the result does not depend on who is on shift.

  1. Survey, colour and written scope. We measure, test the existing coating and agree colours, sheen and the number of coats. The written quotation names the paint system and the scope.
  2. Protection. Furniture is moved and wrapped, floors are covered edge to edge, and switches, handles and light fittings are masked or removed.
  3. Surface preparation. Walls are washed, flaking paint is scraped back, cracks are opened and filled, and everything is sanded flat. Damp or salt affected areas are treated before any paint goes on.
  4. Primer and finish coats. A sealer or primer suited to the substrate is followed by two finish coats. Wet film thickness is checked on every coat.
  5. Snagging and handover. We inspect in daylight with you, touch up, clean down and hand over a paint schedule listing brand, colour codes and batch numbers for future touch ups.

Venetian Plaster and Stucco in Dubai Media City: what we plan for

Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Knowledge Park are neighbouring free zone business districts on the sea side of Sheikh Zayed Road. Much of the stock is low rise office buildings in landscaped campuses with water features and lawns, joined by office towers such as Arenco Tower, Concord Tower, Shatha Tower and Business Central Towers. Hotels and a small number of residential towers, Hilliana Tower among them, stand along the edges.

The districts sit between Sheikh Zayed Road and the coast. Road dust and exhaust film reach the facades on the inland side, and humid sea air on the other side leaves a salty haze on glass and speeds up corrosion on outdoor AC units and metal fittings. Irrigated lawns add mineral spotting to ground floor glazing. Offices are repainted in sections so that teams can keep working: furniture is moved to the centre and covered, walls are filled and sanded with dust extraction, and low odour water based paint is used throughout. Brand colours are matched to the reference the tenant supplies. When a lease ends, partitions are made good and walls returned to the landlord finish.

These are managed free zones. Contractors need a permit from the building or the zone management, with staff details submitted in advance, and there are limits on work in common areas during office hours. The MELLS prepares the paperwork, and the exact rules are confirmed at the site visit.

Questions about Venetian plaster and stucco in Dubai Media City

What does Venetian plaster and stucco include?

Venetian plaster is a lime or acrylic based stucco trowelled on in thin layers and burnished by steel blade to give a polished, stone like wall with depth and movement. The work includes wall brought to a flat, smooth base before any plaster; sample board made and agreed for colour and sheen; three or more thin coats trowelled in short random strokes.

Is Venetian plaster suitable for a bathroom?

It suits powder rooms and bathroom walls away from direct water, provided it is sealed or waxed. Inside a shower enclosure a lime based finish needs a specific waterproofing system and careful maintenance, so we normally suggest stone or tile there and stucco on the dry walls.

Can a damaged area be repaired later?

Small chips can be filled and burnished again, but the patch seldom disappears, because the pattern and polish are made in one continuous pass. A noticeable repair usually means redoing the final coat across the whole wall, from corner to corner.

How much does Venetian plaster and stucco cost in Dubai Media City?

We do not publish prices, because no two jobs are the same. The main factors: wall and ceiling area and ceiling height; condition of the surface and how much repair is needed. Book a site visit: a supervisor from The MELLS looks at the work and you receive a written quotation with a defined scope before anything begins.

Who provides Venetian plaster and stucco in Dubai Media City?

The MELLS provides Venetian plaster and stucco in Dubai Media City. The work is carried out by people The MELLS employs directly, under a named supervisor, 08:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday. To arrange it, book a site visit on this page or call +971 55 444 0084.

How long does Venetian plaster and stucco take?

Usually one to three days, confirmed with the quotation.

How do you protect furniture and floors?

Furniture is moved to the centre of the room and wrapped. Floors are covered edge to edge, and fittings are masked or removed. The crew cleans down every day.

Do you repair cracks and damp patches before painting?

Yes. Cracks are opened, filled and sanded, and damp or salt affected plaster is treated and sealed first. Painting over a defect only hides it for a few months.

How long before the paint is fully dry?

Water based emulsion is touch dry in about an hour and can be recoated in around four hours. It reaches full hardness over two to four weeks, so avoid scrubbing new walls in that time.

Do you arrange the building permit in Dubai Media City?

Yes. Most buildings ask contractors for a work permit, trade licence, insurance and staff IDs, and a service lift booking. We submit all of it for you.

Do you handle the handback of an office at the end of a lease?

Yes. The handback list from the landlord is walked through at a site visit. Making good, repainting, carpet cleaning and a final clean are then set out in one written quotation and one programme.

How do I choose a company for Venetian plaster and stucco in Dubai Media City?

Ask four things: who employs the people who will come, whether the scope is written down before work starts, how the result is checked, and what happens if something is missed. The MELLS uses its own staff, quotes in writing after a site visit, checks every job (wet film thickness checked on every coat and an adhesion test at handover) and puts right any failed check free of charge within 48 hours.

Can you come to Dubai Media City at short notice?

Yes. Crews travel from our Barsha Heights base, and urgent work in Dubai is attended within two hours between 08:00 and 19:00, Monday to Saturday.
