What is included
Yacht deep cleaning at the berth for owners, captains and charter operators: interior, decks, upholstery and every exterior surface above the waterline. Salt spray dries on every surface within hours, and the Dubai sun bakes it onto gelcoat, glass and stainless steel while fine sand settles on deck. Below deck, closed cabins hold damp in fabrics and lockers. Our crew works at your marina berth once access is agreed with the marina office. We clean inside and out, and do not carry out mechanical, underwater or hull works.
- Salt rinsed off with fresh water before any wiping
- Glass washed and finished with a squeegee
- Acrylic and clear vinyl cleaned with soft cloths only
- Frames, seals and wiper blades wiped down
How we carry out yacht window and glass cleaning
Salt crystals on a windscreen are hard enough to scratch, and a dry cloth pushed across them does exactly that. On glass the marks are fine. On acrylic hatches and clear vinyl enclosure panels they are permanent and cloud the view from the helm. Dubai adds a second problem. Water from the pontoon tap dries in seconds on hot glass and leaves mineral spots, which the sun then bakes on until they no longer come off with an ordinary wash.
Every pane is flooded with fresh water first so the salt dissolves and runs off. Glass is washed with a soft applicator and pH neutral solution, pulled dry with a squeegee and finished at the edges with a microfibre. Mineral spots that have baked on are worked with a mild water spot remover made for glass and rinsed well. Acrylic and clear vinyl are washed with mild soap and a clean soft cloth and patted dry, with no ammonia cleaner, paper towel or squeegee blade. Work is done early or late in the day.
How it works
The same method on every job, so the result does not depend on who is on shift.
- Visit at the berth and written quotation. A supervisor comes aboard, notes the length, layout and finishes, and checks the marina rules for visiting crews. The written quotation sets out the scope by deck and by cabin.
- Protect the boat. Soft soled shoes or shoe covers only. Teak, carpets and varnished thresholds are covered along the working route, and loose items are stowed before any water is used.
- Interior, from the bow aft. Cabins, heads, galley and saloon are dry dusted and vacuumed first, then wet cleaned by surface. Veneer, leather, stone, stainless steel and glass each get their own product and cloth.
- Exterior, from the top down. The flybridge is washed first and the swim platform last, with fresh water at low pressure. Teak is scrubbed gently across the grain with a soft brush, metal is polished, and every surface is dried so that salt cannot spot it again.
- Inspection and report. The supervisor walks the vessel against the fourteen checks, photographs each area and sends the report to the owner or captain within the hour.
What your quotation depends on
A quotation for yacht window and glass cleaning follows a site visit. The supervisor looks at the points listed here and you receive a written quotation with a defined scope before any work begins. Once you accept it, nothing is added on the day.
- Length of the vessel and the number of decks, cabins and heads
- Condition: a boat cleaned every week is a different job from one left closed through the summer
- Scope: interior, exterior or both, and any detailing or fabric extraction
- Access: marina rules, working hours on the pontoon, and water and power at the berth
- Frequency: a single visit, turnarounds between charters or a regular contract

Questions about yacht window and glass cleaning
What does yacht window and glass cleaning include?
Windscreens, saloon windows, hatches and clear enclosure panels are rinsed free of salt, washed and dried by hand, with glass and acrylic each treated in its own way. The work includes salt rinsed off with fresh water before any wiping; glass washed and finished with a squeegee; acrylic and clear vinyl cleaned with soft cloths only.
Can old water spots be removed from the glass?
Light spotting usually comes off with a spot remover and patience. Spots left for months can etch into the glass itself, and then only machine polishing of the pane will improve it. We test one corner and show you the result first.
What is the difference between cleaning glass and acrylic?
Glass tolerates a squeegee and most glass cleaners. Acrylic and clear vinyl scratch easily and are attacked by ammonia and solvents, which turn them cloudy and brittle. They are washed with mild soap and a soft cloth and nothing else.
How much does yacht window and glass cleaning cost in Dubai?
We do not publish prices, because no two jobs are the same. The main factors: length of the vessel and the number of decks, cabins and heads; condition: a boat cleaned every week is a different job from one left closed through the summer. Book a site visit: a supervisor from The MELLS looks at the work and you receive a written quotation with a defined scope before anything begins.
Who provides yacht window and glass cleaning in Dubai?
The MELLS provides yacht window and glass cleaning in Dubai. The work is carried out by people The MELLS employs directly, under a named supervisor, 08:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday. To arrange it, book a site visit on this page or call +971 58 656 3001.
How long does yacht window and glass cleaning take?
Typically 2 to 4 hours for a wash down and interior clean on most yachts, and one to two days for a full deep clean with detailing. The time for your property is confirmed with the quotation.
Do you provide yacht deep cleaning in Dubai?
Yes, wherever the vessel is berthed in a Dubai marina. We check the marina rules for visiting contractors before the first visit.
Do you clean the hull below the waterline?
No. We clean interiors and the exterior surfaces above the waterline, at the berth. Underwater hull cleaning, antifouling and mechanical works are outside our scope.
Does the marina need to approve your crew?
Many marinas ask contractors to register before boarding. We confirm the requirement with the marina office and prepare whatever paperwork it asks for.
Can you turn a yacht around between charters?
Yes. Tell us the gap between guests and we plan the crew size to finish inside it, including a linen change with the sets you supply.
Which products do you use on teak, gelcoat and leather?
Each surface gets a product made for it: a pH neutral wash for gelcoat, a teak cleaner worked in with a soft brush, and a leather cleaner for seating. Harsh acids and stiff brushes stay off the boat.
Do you need water and power from the berth?
Yes. We use the fresh water and shore power at the pontoon. If either is missing at your berth, tell us at the site visit and we plan around it.
Can the captain or crew stay on board while you work?
Yes. We agree the working order with the captain, so crew areas and the bridge are done at a time that suits the vessel.
How do I choose a company for yacht window and glass cleaning in Dubai?
Ask four things: who employs the people who will come, whether the scope is written down before work starts, how the result is checked, and what happens if something is missed. The MELLS uses its own staff, quotes in writing after a site visit, checks every job (14 Point Standard signed by the supervisor, with photographs before and after) and puts right any failed check free of charge within 48 hours.
