How we carry out dehumidifier and humidifier servicing
Dehumidifiers work hard in Dubai, in basements, closed summer homes, wine rooms, gyms and storerooms where the AC alone cannot pull the humidity down. They gather dust on the coil and filter like any AC, and the water they collect sits in a tank, a pump or a drain hose where slime grows. A unit that cannot drain stops on a full tank or overflows. The technician cleans the filter and coil, empties and scrubs the tank, flushes the hose or pump and checks that water reaches the drain.
Humidifiers are fewer but need just as much care. They are fitted in some wine cellars, cigar rooms and rooms with fine instruments or artwork, where the AC dries the air too far. Hard desalinated water leaves limescale on pads, nozzles and electrodes, and standing water in a reservoir grows slime. Pads and reservoirs are cleaned or replaced and scale is removed. On both kinds of unit the humidistat is checked against a handheld hygrometer, and the set point is agreed with you so the room holds the level intended.
